On July 1, 2010, the members of the Demarest Shade Tree Commission,
along with Demarest Mayor/Bergen County Freeholder Chairman James M.
Carroll, Council President William Connelly, and other members of the
Demarest Council held a Tree Dedication ceremony at the Gazebo/Duck Pond
in Demarest, to honor the memory of Mr. Robert Reitsema, a long time
Demarest resident who served for many years on the Demarest Shade Tree
Commission. The family of Mr. Reitsema were presented with
commendations from the Borough of Demarest and from the Bergen County
Freeholders in honor of Mr. Reitsema's many years of service to the
Demarest community.
