Stone Point Park, Westwood Avenue, Old Tappan

Teams of enthusiastic community members of the Northern and Pascack Valley towns will once again come together and walk around the clock in the battle against cancer during the American Cancer Society's signature event - Relay For Life. This overnight Relay, held at Westwood High School for the past four years, will now take place at Stone Point Park, Westwood Avenue, Old Tappan. The Relay For Life of Northern Valley, previously held at Northern Valley Regional High School, Demarest for the past three years has merged with this Relay to form a broader community event. Relay For Life of Old Tappan and Pascack Valley will begin 5:00 p.m. on June 13th and will end 7:00 a.m. June 14th.
Not all participants are required to stay through the night. Anyone interested in participating can enjoy the evening's entertainment and activities starting at 5pm as well as the Survivor Ceremony at 6:30pm and the Candle Lighting/Luminaria Ceremony at 10:00 pm.
The Relay begins with a celebration of cancer survivors (anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer) to walk or wheelchair a lap around the track. This is an emotional time and sets the stage for the importance of each participant's contribution. A festive atmosphere always develops around the track area as teams set up their campsites and begin the evening's activities. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times throughout the night - because cancer never sleeps. What's New?
